more on Sway

i've discovered that a song like Sway sounds like crap if i try to use a drum machine for the drums
so i'm (hopefully) getting with a guy i work with named Stevo to record him drumming the song
this is the major snag in the EP strangely enough
i WANT to re-record "Say My Name" but i don't necessarily have to

since 2000 i've played in 2 bands VEiN and Insurrect
8 years later i ordered some bumper stickers for Allofher Twitch that just came in
it's the first time i've ever had official swag!!
it's rather exciting, lol

so right now i'm going to say the reason why i haven't finished the EP yet is because i have to get the rights for "Sway" and i'll have to go through Harry Fox to do that, which is no easy task
and that seems like a reasonable excuse for me!
it's the cost of covering a Dean Martin song

i'm starting, slowly but surely, to work on songs for the full album however

and i have a song lineup for a live show that i'm trying to make happen in August
setlist will be somewhat including the entire EP, and a song called Useless Thorns

i have two ideas for new lyrics i want to write entitled "Are There Gothic Clothing Stores in Hell?" or something similar to that, and "Frankenstein, The Love Doctor" or Doctor of Love....it's hard to tell really, i haven't even started on it!

Scab is supposed to come over so we can work on our SECRET little project of sinful anti-music
usually he'll come over and we'll plan to make REAL music, and end up resorting to anti-music
maybe this time the opposite will occur
who knows

i really need to keep busy! so i can have more to say!

so the EP is almost complete! the current predicted track listing for it is..

i'm still deciding on things for the album release and how available it will be. it will definately be affordable! if i can i'm going to try to get a remix of some sort on the hard copy and just have the 4 official songs available for free download!
who knows how things will turn up
i'm producing it myself, while Brittney Wagner is mixing it, and Adam Gaskins (of ShipiboConibo) is mastering it.
my friend Iris put together the album art and is helping me with bumper stickers as well.

i have 5 songs (including the 4 from the EP) ready to play live, so i'm trying to put together a live band
i have Scab Rust (Blooded, former bassist for Insurrect) playing the keys and synths for me
Jason Cross (former bassist for VEiN and Insurrect) filling in on bass until i find someone else, or he moves to Ireland...i suppose whichever comes first!
and Stevo (Shadows Play Tag in the Sky) in negotiations for drumming, but i'm not positive how that's working out

in other news however, my former bandmates (Insurrect) have recently signed a record contract with Electrical Banana Productions, which is apparently owned by Digital Image Media Group, LLC
which a big congratulations to them for the deal, i know they're excited and i have no doubt that big things will come their way
i personally would've never signed the deal, i was told the basic jist of the deal and it all seems like the label is letting them do what they could be doing anyway by themselves, and just taking money from them for it
but i could be wrong! it just shows why it was a better idea that we parted ways when we did!
either way though, congratulations to them, they've been working hard and deserve to be noticed.

first post!!

so in the grand tradition of me ripping off my friends, i've decided to start a blog chronicling my musical career!!

i suppose to bring things up to date, i first started a band called VEiN that had a few revolving members before the final lineup involved Jason "Azoik" Meador, Aaron "Chainboy" Belknap and Jason Cross!
we released two live albums called Triskadekaphobic (both of them were called Triskadekaphobic) on a label that me and my friend Ashe ran called Envelope Records
and then we broke up
at which point i started doing a solo project that i originally called Riotwing, and then i wisely changed the name to Allofher Twitch
i joined the band Insurrect, and then released the first album from the solo project entitled "Deep 13"
eventually artistic differences drove me out of Insurrect and now i'm working on Allofher Twitch full time!!

so now that the past is over with, let's hit the present!

after much pondering i've decided to put a cover of the song "Sway" by Dean Martin on my upcoming EP which will be titled "Say My Name EP"
i'm doing the song in the style that it was performed by Anita Kelsey for the movie Dark City

all i have to do is record it, have it mixed, and then it's off to Adam Gaskins of ShipiboConibo to master it
and it'll be available! i'm still not solid on purchasing methods or what not...but it'll be fairly easy to acquire, even if you don't have the moneys

so that's it for now....hopefully future blogs won't be so wordy
